We have had two days of beautiful sunshine in our lovely part of the world, a great excuse for going out with the kids for picnics!

Yesterday we went down to Sizergh Castle, a local National Trust property which the kids love going to as it has a small residential castle, a lake, rhodedendron bushes to climb and play in, and a fantastic limestone rock garden where they can clamber over little rock bridges and find different paths through it all. They spotted hundreds and hundreds of tadpoles swimming around the little streams in the rock garden.

We also found out that there was an exhibition about felting, knitting, weaving and spinning which of course kept me happy! They both had a go at making a piece of flat felt which is soon to be made into a purse or something! Eilidh also came away with a little weaving loom made from cardboard which she wants to make a bookmark with, so it was really good.

Today we decided to go off to Fellfoot Park, another National Trust park (getting our money's worth!!) which is right down by Lake Windermere. They spent all the time splashing about in the lake and playing in the bushes again. Ben was exhausted and fell fast asleep on the way home, he really is getting too heavy for me to lift upstairs now but I managed it after a few grunts, groans and swear words!!!

I do so love this blogging thing, it allows me to see some of the amazing pictures my wife takes - admittedly they seem to be mostly of our two kids but that is no bad thing eh??
It also lets me know what they have been upto whilst I am out earning the money to pay for it all. You never know they may some day take me to see some of these lovely places.

Ho hum,

Dave.

Aw poor baby:) lol

Still Eilidh looks pretty in that dress. Looks like they had a great time but did you have to send the rain our way, wasn't it enough that we had snow for soo long now we have rain.

Yes Eilidh did look pretty in that dress. Unfortunately, after surviving the tree climbing she went down to her little friends house and managed to cover it in mud and rip the back to shreds!!!!

As for the rain, we decided we didn't want it so thought you might like some to wash away all the snow.... Ha Ha
